Linda Curtain

Christian County Board - District 1

Linda Curtin is a candidate for County Board District 1 which consists of Assumption, Locust, May, Mosquito, Mt. Auburn, Prairieton and Stonington Townships. Linda is married to Ben Curtin and has a son, Jess, and a daughter Lori Parks (Tim).  Linda and Ben live on a farm in between Stonington and Taylorville.

Linda is active in her community as a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Stonington and member of that Parish Council, a board member of the Christian County YMCA in Taylorville, Treasurer of the Christian County Democratic Women,  trustee of the Retired AFSCME SUB and a trustee in May Township.

Linda worked part time for the Christian County Treasurer and the Christian County Clerk in the late 1990’s then full time, 1997-2002 in the Supervisor of Assessments office as and was a member of the AFSCME Council 31.  When the County Clerk decided to retire she ran for County Clerk and served 3 terms, 12 years until I retired. She worked for Christian County for over 20 years and really enjoyed serving the public.

After retirement Linda decided to run for County Board because she felt she was well-qualified to make informed decisions regarding day to day management of county government.  She is running for re-election for her third term.  She presently serves on the finance committee and she is also the Christian County representative on the Land of Lincoln Workforce Alliance.  This is a job placement and training work center serving Cass, Christian, Logan, Menard and Sangamon Counties.

Linda’s  goal for serving on the County Board is to draw on her years of experience working for taxpayers to make informed decisions and to increase the number of good paying jobs for the people of Christian County.
