Teresa Tran
City Council
Born and raised in Springfield, Teresa Tran has spent her career working alongside local businesses, healthcare organizations, organized labor, nonprofit partners, and Springfield's many cultural communities. She has learned that despite our different backgrounds and neighborhoods, people want the same things: to be heard, respected, and know their voice matters.
As a working mother, Teresa worked multiple jobs to afford daycare while still making it to her son's games, school events, and classroom celebrations. Like many Springfield families, she learned how to balance competing priorities, solve problems, and keep showing up for the people counting on her.
For nearly a decade, Teresa has been an active member of the Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce, celebrating ribbon cuttings and supporting the entrepreneurs and small businesses that invest in Springfield. She has also fostered more than 60 rescue dogs through WILD Canine Rescue, believing a strong community cares for all family members, including the ones with paws.
Teresa believes the best decisions are made with the community, not just for the community. Her focus is making City Hall easier to understand through transparency and communication, reducing barriers for small businesses, including food trucks and first-time entrepreneurs, strengthening neighborhoods through volunteerism and accountability, and protecting Springfield's environment so future generations inherit a healthier, stronger Springfield.
